When We Fly Your Puppy
This page shows how we deliver your puppy to the nearest large airport to your state or country. We take utmost care in making sure a puppy is handle by our own staff, people that we know will love our puppies until the puppy is in your arms! I journaled our journey on our delivery to Seattle, Washington
Part 1 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
~This is one of our cavadoodles that we delivered to Seattle, Washington airport~
-
One of the first things we do when delivering a puppy to you is to make sure the puppy is washed, ears and eyes are clean
-
We trim the hair around their eyes to prevent the eyes from watering. After puppy is dry we then brush them and get them ready for a great flight
-
We pack up the puppy in a solid crate for the car transport, which is bigger and more comfortable. In that crate we have water and a bit of kibble and a soft blanket
-
Then we head to the airport...a 2 1/2 hour trip by car.
-
Usually we stay overnight in a pet friendly hotel because flights are often early in the morning.
-
Here is the puppy we are transporting to Seattle Washington in the pet friendly airport...just relaxed and scouting around the room
Part 2 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
Here is puppy in the bed a the pet friendly hotel that is close to the Minneapolis Airport
-
I traveled along in this deliver so I can journal how much care we give to our dogs when we deliver to the new families.
-
Note: Many times, breeder will hire another company to deliver their puppies, here at Puppies Up North, we just don't feel safe to let this little bundle of joy be handled and maybe mis-treated, or lack water or food, lost or stolen. Another breeder recently had their puppy stolen by the transport company and then went out of business so she couldn't locate them...do you see why we choose to deliver ourselves?
-
My husband, myself or my sister are key people that are willing to travel to your state or country, to deliver your puppy to your closest large airport.
-
By us transporting your puppy to your arms, it save me from worrying about the puppy and it's care and saves you money in the long run.
Part 3 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
When we transport your puppy to the airport we take puppy to the vet one more time to get a Health Certificate for the airline travel, we get pupppy, paperwork and puppy basket ready, we drive from our home to the Minneapolis airport (2 1/2 hours), if flight is early, we stay over night in a pet friendly hotel, we then go thru TSA and show proper paper work for us and the puppy. We then board the plane, often having a long flight, puppy is at our feet and I check on puppy through out the flight, we then meet you at the baggage claims area.
-
Here puppy is being packed up after a great night of rest, being taken out during the night once. Puppy is taken to the airport in this crate.
-
At the airport, puppy is transported to the Airline Approve crate with wheels.
-
The airlines are very strict about the proper age, proper crate for the plane, proper paperwork...we have done this so we know exactly what to do in this whole process and puppy is relaxed!
Part 4 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
We have now transferred puppy into his airline crate that rolls
-
We have gone thru TSA and all the paperwork, puppy basket and puppy have made it thru the inspection with "flying colors"!
-
Mike is pulling the puppy along and puppy is quiet
-
We walk slowly in trying to get to our gate.
-
We pick up some water in our travel water / food carrier because we know we cannot take water thru TSA checkpoint
-
Puppy is able to look out of the mesh on his airline approve crate and is content.
-
Puppy is not crying, is not whimpering...just enjoying the ride
-
People along the way are telling us how cute puppy is and how content he looks...we smile along our journey...we are happy that our puppy is happy and going to his next great home and we get to deliver puppy to his forever home!

Part 5 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
When we find our gate, we sit down and take puppy out of the crate
-
When you put a puppy on your lap, we always make sure we have our business cards ready.
-
People come up and talk to us, often saying they have not seen a puppy so content. They tell us that most puppies they see are barking and don't know how to relax on someone's lap. They tell us you can tell that you handle your puppies as when you are talking, the puppy actually looks at you. We smile, that's the perfect compliment we could have...we love our puppies dearly!
-
When they ask about our "Deliveries" we let them know that we deliver the puppy ourselves, they will never be put under the belly of the plane, and that we handle them all the way until they are safely in the arms of the owners!

Part 6 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
While I went to get coffee, my husband held the puppy.
-
If you notice, the puppy is just as content with Mike (my husband) as he is with me.
-
Mike handles the puppies all the time in our facility, in making sure they have food, water, dry blankies, clean toys, and a clean place to run around. Mike knows these puppies through and through...and love them as much as I do.
-
I get the fun job of loving and cuddling them in the evening and waking them up in the morning. I get to take them for their daily runs...its an amazing job...someone has to do it! Haha!
-
Also while we are waiting, we have pottied puppy and make sure he has water, and a bit of food since the flight will be long.
-
I also check to see if his bed is dry and we are ready for flight.
Part 7 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
Its now time to board the plane.
-
We walk down the ramp to our plane...we are greeted by the pilot, steward and stewardess.
-
We then put puppy easily underneath the seat in front of us by out feet.
-
The airlines approved crate's handle telescopes back into the crate and we can then lay the crate down...
-
When we lay the crate down, puppy can really stretch out.
-
Under the seat and on the floor, when flying is nice and toasty warm and vibrates a bit...so puppies fall sound to sleep.
-
I don't wake them up, but I have food and water sitting right at the front so puppy can eat a bit of kibble or drink upon his waking up from the nap.
-
This is a big couple days for puppy so they often sleep the flight
Part 8 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
As part of our packet we send to new owners is a PuppiesUpNorth sign. We never know how busy the airport will be so we want to find the families quickly so we can board the next flight back.
-
The picture above is me carrying the sign, and pulling puppy along.
-
We always meet at the baggage area for our flight because that seems to be the easiest location.
-
We send the flight itinerary along with flight number, airline we are using and approximate arrival time...and the sign!
-
The sign is important for us and the new owner because no one in all the airline has a sign just like this...
-
As you notice...I am always excited to meet the family!!
Part 9 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
As we were coming down the escalator, my eyes were looking for the Puppies Up North sign
-
I spotted a little girl holding the sign with her mom
-
She has a mile wide smile and I was anxious to get to them
-
I came walking across the hallway and she came to me
-
It was a great union of this little girl and her puppy
-
I pulled out the puppy, her mom was snapping away the pictures
-
We absolutely love this time of day. It's a long journey, it's extra steps to get the puppy on the airlines, it's extra work to take the puppy to go potty in the hotel, it's a lot of work to make sure paperwork is good....but this is all worth it!
-
Now we now, puppy is safely in the arms of the new family and all is well!
-
If you are considering getting a puppy delivered, we can help!
Part 10 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
I handed our little bundle of joy over to the little girl...she was a bit nervous but I assured her how to hold on to the puppy and how the puppy would warm up to her
-
I finalized the paperwork with her mom, handed over the puppy basket to the grandmother.
-
The family had located where the nearest potty area was and took puppy directly to that place.
-
It was definitely a family affair adding another family member and we were happy there would be so much care and cuddles that this puppy would have!
-
This family has since send many pictures of places they have taken the puppy, or of the puppy just cuddling!
Part 11 ~ Airport to Airport Delivery
from our arms to your arms...
-
Of course the puppy had to give her new friend all puppy kisses she could give...puppy but excited...little girl as calm and excited...it was fun to see again it was another successful transfer to a family.

For all these above mentioned services, with all the tender loving care, all the paperwork completed for the airlines, making sure the right crate airline approved crate is used, the drive to and from Minneapolis, the hotel, the flight and time to and from the location, etc...most of the time we charge $1500 (based on the airline ticket and one person traveling with the puppy)
